launch MGM HD in Spain
The movie channel MGM HD will be available
on Movistar Imagenio
With a catalogue of 4,000 titles,
it will broadcast the best movies in HD mode 24/7
Chello Multicanal and MGM Worldwide Networks, a division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, are launching in Spain the MGM HD movie channel, which will broadcast daily all its programming in high definition with a catalogue including more than 4,000 titles from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer library, the world’s largest collection of modern films.
Distributed in Spain by Chello Multicanal through a strategic alliance with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the HD version of the MGM Channel will be available as of September 30th on Movistar Imagenio.
MGM HD aims at becoming the ultimate resource channel for serious movie fans, providing viewers with an array of ground-breaking content and exclusive premieres in 1080i HD from the MGM library. 24/7 programming with the best titles from the prestigious Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios, reference movies from all times that will be broadcast, for the first time, in HD.

On its first day of HD broadcast, MGM will offer, first time in HD, “Some Like It Hot”, one of Billy Wilder’s representative films, starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe; and “Moonstruck”, for which Cher won the Oscar® for Best Actress, among other titles.
Also, during the next days, the channel’s programming grid will feature "Bull Durham", starring Kevin Costner; "The Party", with Peter Sellers; "Moby Dick", with Gregory Peck or "The Night of the Hunter", starring Robert Mitchum. The Academy Award-winning "Raging Bull", “Blue Velvet” by David Lynch, “House of Games” by David Mamet or “Home for the Holidays” by Jodie Foster, are also some of the titles.
