MGM Channel’s new actor slot on Tuesday evenings is dedicated to all time favorites in the movie business. This month the focus is set on internationally known and beloved American actor Jeff Bridges.
Jeff Bridges is not only an actor, but also a very skilled musician, a photographer, and a storyteller. He comes from a well-known acting family and has starred in several films together with his father Lloyd and brother Beau Bridges. Since 1977 he has been married to Susan Geston who he met during the shooting of the film Rancho Deluxe. In 2010 he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Otis “Bad” Blake in the 2009 film Crazy Heart. In 2011 he was nominated again as Best Actor for his role in True Grit. He was also Oscar® nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance opposite Clint Eastwood in the 1974 film Thunderbolt And Lightfoot. Bridges has been honored with a star on the walk of fame in 1994.
In 1983, Jeff Bridges formed the End Hunger Network. It is a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed children around the world.
